Matilda hummed a tune as she practically skipped toward the seventh princess’s armory. Silber followed behind, if a bit more subdued. As long as one was a knight, they would be excited at the prospect of new armor. Not even Silber was an exception.

When the two opened the doors to the armory, they saw a brown-haired woman already inside. The room itself was extremely large, easily able to fit a hundred people inside. Most of the space was unoccupied except for a few arms on one wall and various equipment ranging from suits of armor to saddles.

“Miss Olga!” Matilda called out.

Olga Muller turned around and blinked. The armory didn’t have a clock, so she looked out the window, using the sun’s position to determine the time.

“What’s wrong?” Matilda asked as she walked up toward Olga.

“No, it’s nothing,” Olga said, shaking her head. “Why are you up so early? Don’t you usually wake up until much later?”

“Hehe, I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t wait to try on my new armor.”

“Unfortunately, it seems that the armor is delayed and won’t arrive until next week.”

“Wah? Really?” Matilda asked as she became crestfallen. It was as if she lost all energy in her body as her form slumped.

“Pfff!” Olga hid her laughter behind her first. “I was just joking with ya.”

Matilda looked up with teary eyes and glared at her superior. “I hate you.”

“Sorry, sorry,” Olga said. “Anyways, you are a bit early. The drake scale mail shouldn’t arrive until a bit later.”

The knight captain turned toward Silber. “I’m guessing Matilda told you. It was supposed to be a surprise for everyone, but there’s no harm in letting you know first.”

“Thank you, Captain,” Silber said.

“No need,” Olga waved her hand. “When the armor arrives, you can familiarize yourself with them first and then announce it to your squad.”

Silber smiled. “Thank you.”

She didn’t know if Olga knew it or not, but allowing her to announce it to the second squad was helping her consolidate her control over the second squad and an indirect acknowledgement. Of course, Silber had the confidence to force her rivals to kneel before her, but she appreciated any help, nonetheless.

“Sir Olga, Sir Matilda, I heard that Prince William gifted Her Highness a unique set of armor. I wonder which one it is,” Silber asked.

“No need to address me as Sir while we’re off duty,” Olga said. “As for Her Highness’s armor, I believe it’s stored in her study.”

“I know, I know,” Matilda said. “It is in her office. I wonder if our armor is going to look as cool as Drachen.”

“Drachen?” Silber asked.

“It’s what Her Highness named her armor,” Matilda said.

“Drachen, as in dragon, huh,” Silber said. “It’s an impressive name.”

“Is that what it means?” Matilda asked.

“You didn’t know?” Silber asked, surprised.

Matilda shook her head. “I just thought it sounded cool.”

She turned toward Olga. “Did you know?”

Olga shifted her eyes. “I don’t think the drake scale mail will appear as impressive as Her Highness’s personal suit of armor. It was something Prince William commissioned just for Her Highness, after all.
